Kennin Kishimoto

岸本 謙仁 / Based in Toki, Gifu — the historic heart of Mino ware, one of Japan's oldest and most celebrated ceramic traditions.

1934 Born in Nagoya.1960 Moved to the Mino region to work in ceramics.
1969 Built a semi-subterranean anagama (tunnel kiln) at the foot of Mt. Mikuni.
1976 Full member, Japan Kogei Association (Japan Art Crafts Association).
1993 Exhibited in "Japanese Ceramics Today: 100 Selected Works," organized by NHK.
Repeatedly selected for the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and the Chunichi International Exhibition of Ceramic Arts
