Kennin Kishimoto
岸本 謙仁 / Based in Toki, Gifu — the historic heart of Mino ware, one of Japan's oldest and most celebrated ceramic traditions.
1934 Born in Nagoya.1960 Moved to the Mino region to work in ceramics.
1969 Built a semi-subterranean anagama (tunnel kiln) at the foot of Mt. Mikuni.
1976 Full member, Japan Kogei Association
(Japan Art Crafts Association).
1993 Exhibited in "Japanese Ceramics Today: 100 Selected
Works," organized by NHK.
