Shinji Ito
伊藤 真司 /Based in Toki, Gifu — the historic heart of Mino ware, one of Japan's oldest and most celebrated ceramic traditions.
1952 Graduated in Ceramics, Tajimi Technical High School, Gifu.
1955 Studied under Sakuzo Hineno and Chitojin Sawada at the
Kotani Ceramic Research Institute.
1958 Trained in ceramics in Tokoname.
2003 Commendation from the Minister of Economy, Trade
and Industry.
2005 Gifu Governor's Award for Excellence in Craftsmanship.
2011 Gifu Governor's Commendation for the Preservation of
Traditional Culture.
2002 Director-General's Award, Manufacturing Industries
Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
2003 Chairman's Award, Gifu Federation of Small Business
Associations.
2009 Good Design Award.
